Petra's yoga styles
Therapeutic Yoga
This form of yoga is the application of classic yoga techniques to specific ailments.
The special thing about it is that you learn how to activate your self-healing powers on your own.
Therapeutic yoga can be combined very well with conventional medicine and other natural healing methods.
No matter what your constitution is - it is suitable for absolute yoga beginners as well as for experienced practitioners.
Hatha yoga
Hatha yoga is a type of yoga that has been practiced for thousands of years. To date, it is the most widespread type of yoga worldwide.
Hatha yoga combines physical exercises (asanas) with breathing exercises (pranayama).
“Hatha” translated from the Sanscript means “power”. Accordingly, strengthening exercises are the focus of Hatha Yoga. In a classic Hatha class, you will slowly transition between poses, adjusting your breathing to the controlled movements.
The goal is physical and mental balance. Hatha Yoga is designed to give you stability and help you find your center.
Yin yoga
Yin Yoga is a calm, slow style that is characterized by a high proportion of stretching.
You spend many minutes passively in a particular pose before moving on to the next.
The term "yin" is derived from the Chinese principle of yin and yang. Yin stands for feminine, soft and passive energies, while Yang reflects the masculine, dynamic and powerful.
On a physical level, Yin is the connective tissue (fascia) and Yang is the muscles. Accordingly, Yin Yoga is about softening the fascia through calm, passive exercises.
Vinyasa Yoga
Vinyasa Yoga is a modification of Hatha Yoga. Unlike the more static and strengthening Hatha, Vinyasa is more dynamic.
The physical exercises (asanas) are not practiced individually, but lined up in flowing movements. A connecting element of the styles is breathing: As with Hatha Yoga, the exercises in a Vinyasa Flow should be carried out synchronously with the breath.
That is, the movements in Vinyasa Yoga are composed in a specific way. That's what's so special about Vinyasa Yoga: No class has to look the same.
